The eye is the most exotic and alluring feature on the human body. It
engages and attracts others to you. So why is it often neglected? Why not
give it as much attention as you would your nails or hair? I’ve noticed that
many women apply makeup onto their faces but avoid the eyes. Why is that?
Although it is a sensitive feature, it deserves just as much attention.
Emphasis can easily be applied by using mascara. Mascara is applied to
thicken, lengthen, and darken the eyelashes and eyebrows. However; not all
mascaras work the same way for everyone. Each tube of mascara serves its
own purpose, but what if you had a magic wand? What if you found mascara
that can do everything? I’ve researched and found that Maybelline Define-A-
Lash Mascara is just the magic formula you’ve been looking for. It separates
and layers every lash, giving you that defined star-studded look. Whether
you choose to apply it with or without eyeliner and eye shadow, this mascara
certainly seems to make a lasting impression. No ordinary mascara indeed.
With a weightless feel, it gives your lashes bold definition through thick
eyeglass frames. For those with short and thin lashes don’t worry – this
mascara works well for you too. Each coat gives a long and full appearance.
Easy to manage: its waterproof, smear proof, and most importantly cheap, so
there’s no excuse why this mascara shouldn’t be in your makeup box. The
major issue women seem to have with mascara is that they don’t know how to
get the best and maximum usage out of it. This is probably a good reason
why mascara is the makeup that’s least likely to be used. Here are some tips
to help you get the most of your mascara:
1. Never apply mascara while in motion such as a moving car, walking, or
running.
2. Always wash your face before applying any cosmetic application.
3. Clean the wand before and after use: this prevent germs from building
up, which causes infection.
4. Curl lashes before you apply the mascara. This will prevent damaging
the lashes.
5. Slightly bend the mascara wand in a semi-sphere shape to level out
the application to the lashes.
6. For thin lashes use a Lash Primer. It will fill and extend the lashes.
You will apply this the same way as you would the mascara.
7. For best results, apply the mascara in a heavy lit area.
8. To get perfectly defined lashes use a smaller brush. This will
separate, shape, and coat each lash evenly.
9. Apply the mascara with the wand aligned to the floor. Never point the
tip of the mascara directly at the eyes. Start at the base using a zigzag
motion and work your way to the tip of the lash. This will prevent clumps and
give the lengthening appearance.
10. For a fuller look, apply generously at the base and thin it out as you
work your way to the lash tips.
11. For a more dramatic look, apply mascara to both the upper and lower
lashes.
12. Apply mascara to the lower lashes first to avoid mistakes. Roll the
wand as you comb through the lashes; this gives you great lash separation.
13. Apply mascara to the upper lashes start from underneath going up.
14. Wait a few seconds before batting your lashes.
15. Do not pump the wand in and out of the tube. This will allow air into
the tube which will cause the mascara to dry up.
16. Do not overdo the look. Two coats of application should be enough.
Avoid thickening your lashes too much during the fall and winter months.
Doing so will make your lids very heavy and uncomfortable.
17. For thick and sticky mascara, use tissue to dry off lashes after
applied.
18. Choose mascara colors that compliment you. Black is not for
everyone: I.E. Blonds. Try using different shades of brown or colors that
compliment your skin and hair color.
19. Do not go to sleep with mascara on. Use tissue and makeup remover
to purge the mascara.
20. Most importantly: Mascara has a life expectancy of a few months due
to bacteria buildup. My advice would be to change the mascara along with
the season, that way you can avoid labeling the bottle with purchase dates.
Do not use mascara that has a strong distinct smell to it. This is an indication
to throw it out immediately.
No more shying away --- it’s time to open your eyes to the world! Now that
you have followed these steps, you can now bat your lashes with confidence.
